Welcome!

‘AN ARK ON PURPOSE: DISPELLING THE DARKNESS ONE LIGHT AT A TIME’

Welcome to our weekly blog; through it we hope you get to know us better and become part of our family through prayer and support, creating an Ark of faith and a Flood of blessings.

It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special. Unlike previous anniversaries where we had gone on getaways and celebrated our love and Gods goodness, we wanted to spend more time giving thanks to God and seeking His direction. So we chose to go to a place we knew exercised the prophetic trusting the Lord would speak to us as a couple.

You see we were used to hearing Him speak to us on our individual calls and direction, but we had yet to have a sense of clarity on how we could bring our gifts together for the sake of His Kingdom. We were told many things but one stuck out was that we were as an Ark, welcoming beautiful animals under our fold. It did not make sense, but it resounded in my heart with my desire to see others grow in their calling.  I also knew Dave to have a compassionate heart, and it reflected in his choice of vocation in counseling.

Things did not fall into place overnight, and like Mary we pondered what the prophecy could mean. Meanwhile we continued to serve in other ministries, leading teams overseas, serving in online ministry, serving as missions coordinators and in other capacities as the Lord led us.

It was in these steps of obedience that we found ourselves registering first a foundation in Kenya out of necessity not realizing that it was all part of Gods plan for what He had laid on our hearts. The sister supporting corporation in the US came into being more recently: Thus, NODARK was born. The name stands for No Darkness and has within it the Ark we envisioned as part of our call; the Lord led us one step at a time to this place we now find ourselves.

With partners who are passionate about dispelling darkness in whatever way they can: By Empowering, Educating, and Offering hope, we have begun our journey with a small and mighty group. Some have their own ministries and have come on board the Ark as God said would happen.

Next week we will look at a couple of the projects we are involved in…

Season Greetings,

In a last minute dash to wrap up on December 24th,what a season it has been…

From the Christmas party for the community children, distributing the booklets of the gospel of John to the youth,to being in the village of Kilifi to declare the salvation of the LORD in a span of a few days. All I can say is Glory to God in the Highest and Peace to men upon whom His favour rests.

I have a few wishes for you this Christmas…first of all good health,  mixed with peace and topped off with joy.
The LORD bless you and family,

I wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Ricky.

Destiny Hope Christmas

Thanks to the many donations, the children of Destiny Hope in Kenya enjoyed a great meal for Christmas!  This is not a typical daily meal so it was very special and the children had a wonderful time.  THANK YOU!

Happy New Year 2024!!

1.DO IT ANYWAY
Have you ever started anything without having a clue how it would play out? Knowing you were passionate about it but not sure how you would finance it or get people to come alongside you?

Well, that’s pretty much how we begun our journey with NODARK. A blend of dreams and passions that seemed like a mish mash of destinies clashing enroute to fulfillment. But we knew we had tried to work out several things similar and this was a culmination of all we hoped for, a confirmation from the Author and Perfector of dreams. Does it all make sense now? Are there things that still need straightened out and financing? Definitely! But we have begun the journey and like we say in my tribe ‘chaka, chaka’! Meaning ‘Just start!’ We have started. We encourage you to start too and you will be a step further than when you sat on the couch dreaming about making it come to pass.

Do It Afraid

At some point or the other fear has struck each one of us. Many a Psychologist has made a living helping people face and overcome their fears. It could be deep rooted from childhood, an irrational fear from a memory or it could be a real and possible outcome that we fear. Whatever the reason fear paralyzes that is why we are warned 365 times in the bible ‘do not be afraid!’

I learnt from a friend of mine growing up one day when we went to try some scary ride to face my fears. We went the first time and were both terrified and she declared determined: ‘no way that ride is gonna scare me that way, I am doing it again!’ And so I tagged along, doing it afraid and facing my fears.

NODARK is about facing our fears; the name is a play of words meant to depict ‘No Darkness’ and encompassing the Ark which we seek to represent. Darkness is often associated with fearful events. We hope to help dispel that darkness as we empower other to shine their light. We are overcoming and facing our fears, join us in this journey.
