‘AN ARK ON PURPOSE: DISPELLING THE DARKNESS ONE LIGHT AT A TIME’
Welcome to our weekly blog; through it we hope you get to know us better and become part of our family through prayer and support, creating an Ark of faith and a Flood of blessings.
It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special. Unlike previous anniversaries where we had gone on getaways and celebrated our love and Gods goodness, we wanted to spend more time giving thanks to God and seeking His direction. So we chose to go to a place we knew exercised the prophetic trusting the Lord would speak to us as a couple.
You see we were used to hearing Him speak to us on our individual calls and direction, but we had yet to have a sense of clarity on how we could bring our gifts together for the sake of His Kingdom. We were told many things but one stuck out was that we were as an Ark, welcoming beautiful animals under our fold. It did not make sense, but it resounded in my heart with my desire to see others grow in their calling. I also knew Dave to have a compassionate heart, and it reflected in his choice of vocation in counseling.
Things did not fall into place overnight, and like Mary we pondered what the prophecy could mean. Meanwhile we continued to serve in other ministries, leading teams overseas, serving in online ministry, serving as missions coordinators and in other capacities as the Lord led us.
It was in these steps of obedience that we found ourselves registering first a foundation in Kenya out of necessity not realizing that it was all part of Gods plan for what He had laid on our hearts. The sister supporting corporation in the US came into being more recently: Thus, NODARK was born. The name stands for No Darkness and has within it the Ark we envisioned as part of our call; the Lord led us one step at a time to this place we now find ourselves.
With partners who are passionate about dispelling darkness in whatever way they can: By Empowering, Educating, and Offering hope, we have begun our journey with a small and mighty group. Some have their own ministries and have come on board the Ark as God said would happen.
Next week we will look at a couple of the projects we are involved in…
